Step 2: Do You have a Goal for your Pitch?
In Step 1 we looked at your elevator pitch as it stands right now. We also considered whether it met the Core Ingredient Criteria for an Elevator Speech and if not, what was lacking.
For an effective and good elevator pitch/speech you need to have an objective, a goal to be precise. Listen to the short lecture and then proceed to do Exercise 3: What is your goal?
In other words,
What do we want to accomplish?
- Sell someone on something in a brief amount of time
- Let others know what we do
- Get another meeting with the person
- Impress them with what we do/how smart we are
Your turn, jot down what you want to accomplish more than anything else with your Elevator Speech in the below handout.
